Car chase shootout ends in two arrests

GRANDVIEW - Just before 8 p.m. this past Saturday authorities from the Yakima County Sheriff's Office, Grandview Police Department and other agencies were alerted to a drive-by shooting in the 1600 block of Apricot Road near Grandview.

That shooting led to an accident and witnesses told deputies two vehicles were involved in a chase resulting from an earlier confrontation.

An occupant in the trailing vehicle, described as a Trans Am, pulled out a gun and began firing at the other vehicle. At least two shots were discharged and the lead vehicle crashed into a railroad tie after the two vehicles collided with one another.

The suspect vehicle fled the scene and witnesses followed it to the 300 block of East Fourth Street in Grandview.

Officers from Grandview, Prosser and Benton County located the suspects and arrested two individuals.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident and names of those involved are not being released.

The Yakima County Sheriff's Office is investigating the case.
