Swan Road party sparks complaints

Two noise complaints were filed with the Yakima Sheriff's office and three more complaints with the Sunnyside Police Department last night, Sunday, regarding loud music coming from a party on Swan Road, north of Columbia Avenue.

That's according to the Sheriff's office, which fielded the calls just before 8 p.m. and again after 10 p.m.

A dispatcher with the Sheriff's office noted the music was so loud that it could be heard over the telephone as the complaint was being filed, according to the Sheriff's office records.

Deputies fielded three calls about other noise complaints in the Lower Yakima Valley this past weekend.

This past Friday deputies were called to the 700 block of Highland Road, near Grandview, regarding loud music. A similar complaint was lodged near Sunnyside this past Saturday in the 1600 block of Washout Road. The third complaint was in the Grandview area Saturday evening regarding loud music in the area of Appleway and Brewer roads.

Also since this past Thursday, deputies were called to transfer an inmate to the county jail on a county warrant because, the Sheriff's record stated, the Sunnyside jail was full.

Deputies were also called Friday regarding an identity theft in the Mabton area in the 400 block of Murray Road.

In addition, a red Ford F250 pick-up truck was stolen Saturday morning from the 500 block of Ware Road, near Grandview.

Deputies were also called to Grandview on Sunday to assist with a vehicle fire in the 300 block of Grandridge.

Deputies also assisted Sunnyside police on Sunday regarding a domestic violence situation because a suspect at the scene, the 1100 block of North Avenue, was armed with a firearm.

In two other calls yesterday, deputies were called to the 4700 block of Sunnyside-Mabton Highway following a complaint that two dogs were killing livestock in the area.

The other call was related to fireworks set off in Mabton near Fifth Avenue.
