OBITUARY

ONALD ANDREW DUNCAN

Donald Andrew Duncan, 58, of Sunnyside, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2009, after a two-and-a-half year courageous battle with cancer at the Toppenish Nursing Center.

He was born June 22, 1950 to Ernest J. and Edna (Liebrecht) Duncan in Buena. Donald received his education and graduated from Sunnyside High School in 1968 and attended one year of college at Yakima Valley College in 1970.

He had been employed by Yakima Valley Grape Producers, Andrus and Roberts, and Valley Processing, Inc. as a forklift operator.

He enjoyed being with his family and watching his tomatoes and hanging basket plants flourish.

He is survived by his mother, Edna Duncan of Sunnyside; two brothers, Dennis (Maxine) Duncan of Chehalis and Dale (Reana) Duncan of Goodyear, Ariz.; three sisters, Denise (David) Trautman and Darlene (Egbert) Terry, all of Sunnyside and Dorthy (David) Richards of Puyallup; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to say thank you to Dr. Sean Cleary, Dr. Vicky Jones, all radiation and oncology staff and volunteers at North Star Lodge, staff at Toppenish Nursing and Rehab Center and Yakima Regional Hospice for their kind and compassionate services.

Viewing and visitation will be held Sunday, March 15, 2009, from 1 until 5 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Graveside services will be held Monday, March 16, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
