YAKIMA - A workshop on how to market your business for government contracts will be held next Friday, March 27, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in Yakima.
The program, offered by New Vision-Yakima County Development Association, will be held at the Central Washington Business Resource Center at 10 North Ninth Street in Yakima. The cost is $10 per person and includes workshop materials and coffee.
Called "Selling to the Government 101," the class will help business owners learn how to identify public contracting opportunities and to see if government contracting makes sense for their individual business.
The class will also instruct business owners on how to register and bid on government contracts.
New Vision is a designated procurement technical assistance center for southeast Washington. In that role, its job is to help small business owners access federal, state and local government contracts.
Last year, small businesses in Washington state received more than $160 million in awards through the assistance of assistance centers like New Vision.
