GRANDVIEW - Grandview police suspect a drug transaction gone wrong is responsible for leaving two men with multiple gunshot wounds last night, Wednesday.
Police say they raced to the 300 block of Fir Street at about 7 p.m. when answering a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, they found two males sitting in the back of a grey Nissan Maxima, each with multiple gunshot wounds. Two females were standing outside of the car.
"Preliminary reports indicate a drug transaction was taking place in the back seat of the car when gunfire erupted," said Sergeant Dave Palacios. "Cash and suspected heroin was recovered from the vehicle."
The two men, a 19-year-old from Wapato with gang ties, and a 29-year-old Pasco man, were initially transported to Sunnyside Community Hospital. The older man has since been transferred to Harborview.
A 23-year-old female was arrested on multiple warrants at the scene.
Despite the fact that one of the men has gang ties, police are not classifying this as a gang related incident.
In other police news, officers investigated a burglary in the 700 block of Hillcrest Road in which Rent-A-Center items were stolen from the home, which included a flat-screen television set, Sony Playstation 3, computer and HP printer.
Wednesday too, a Honda Civic was stolen from the Grandview High School parking lot.
