It won't be too terribly long before I board a plane to Mexico and I can't wait!
I've never left the country, never even gone to Canada.
I've been bugging those I know have gone, especially one gentleman who goes every chance he gets.
The thing I'm most curious about is the bartering system with vendors. This is what I bug people about the most.
My best friend just got back from Mexico a couple of weeks ago. I made her role play with me, with her being the customer just so I could see how it's done. I'm told prices are marked up pretty high, but all you have to do is feign disinterest and start to walk away. Or make a much lower offer. Wish me luck.
I'm envisioning days and days of simply lying on the beach with my husband, sipping margaritas. Or Corona Light. Or whatever strikes my fancy.
I'm picturing us lollygagging in the swimming pool without a care in the world.
However, the recent news about Mexico is making me a little jittery. Fox News' Greta Van Susteren was reporting live from there last night. Surely the resort towns will be safe.
I hope there isn't too much of a problem with a language barrier. It's frustrating enough here at home.
I've seen pictures of rows and rows and rows of beach chairs with umbrellas, oceanside. I can't wait!
At this point, I'm counting down the days and trust me, I can't wait 'til I'm counting down the minutes.
Tick, tick, tick.
