Cynthia Kay Lawson, 53, of Wapato, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 22, 2009, surrounded by her family after struggling many years with Lupus and the many complications that come with that disease.

Cynthia was born July 19, 1955, in Bentonville, Ark. to Bill and Joyce Lawson.

Her family moved to Washington in 1964. She was raised in the Lower Yakima Valley.

Cynthia graduated from Zillah High School in 1974.

She resided at Emerald Care Nursing Home in Wapato.

She loved to pray for other residents, give them teddy bears and homemade cards to cheer them up.

Cynthia's life journey left her with many humorous experiences, which she delighted in sharing. She loved to tell jokes and had the most contagious laugh. Part of the joy and laughter came in just watching her tell the story.

Cynthia was known to be very attractive with the biggest and brightest smile.

She was talented with the gift of poetry, creativity and being sentimental. She found value in lesser things of this world. She loved cats, was full of fun and had a spirit that was full of joy. She found the funny side to the most of dull moments.

She didn't like to use a mop, she liked to stand on a towel and do the twist over the floor until it was squeaky clean.

She loved to dance to her favorite songs and even liked to head bang a little.

She got a laugh, and so would we, when she would sing "Baby got Back". She liked to hula dance to Bob and Ziggy Marlee. She would stand in the living room swaying to her favorite band with a lighter torched high above her head.

She loved to praise God and was truly in love with Jesus Christ. She was a spiritual woman, full of faith. The best teacher God put in our lives and for that she is rewarded eternal life.

Cynthia is survived by her children, Angela Lapierre of Moxee, Jason (Jennifer) Gordon of Chelan; grandchildren, Savanna, Makayla, Autumn Rae, Violet, Jesse, Chance, Jason, and Jacob; her parents, Joyce (Glen) Schick of Granger and Bill Lawson of Granger; her sisters, Teresa Schlottmann of Buford, Geo., Debbie Skinner of Outlook, Gwen (David) Lawson and Shelby (Mike) Bumgardner, all of Granger, Robin (Andy) Abrams of Prosser; three brothers, Bill (Pat) Lawson Jr. of Selah, Kevin (Selena) Lawson of Gleed and Brandon (Wanda) Schick of Granger; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; and friends.
