Zenaida Garcia, 62, of Grandview went to be in the arms of her Savior on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at Yakima Regional Hospital.

She was born March 17, 1947 in Vera Cruz, Mexico, the daughter of Daniel and Marcella (Diaz) Garcia.

Zenaida received her education in Texas. She with her family moved to the Yakima Valley in 1972.

Since March of 1979 she and Humberto Flores have loved, cared for and cherished each other and their children.

Zenaida attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview.

She was a lady who loved watching soap operas (novellas), listening to music, talking on the telephone, caring for her birds and roses and enjoyed her grandchildren and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Humberto Flores of Grandview; 14 children, Thomas R. Maciel Jr. (Patty) of Seattle, Maria Gonzales, Sandra Moreno (Gerardo), Humberto Flores Jr., Matilde Flores (Miguel), Erik Flores, Marcos Flores, Victor Flores and Jose Felix Flores, all of Grandview, Beatriz Perales (Ernesto) of Outlook, Rosalinda Sanchez, Juaquin Maciel (Diane), all of Sunnyside, Juan Maciel (Maria) of Mabton and San Juanita Soliz of Zillah; one brother, Jose Guerra; 44 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Zenaida was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Johnny Sanchez and Julian Flores; one grandson, Thomas Robert Maciel III; one daughter-in-law, Veronica Ayala; and eight siblings.

Viewing and visitation will be held Sunday, May 31, 2009, from 2 to 8 p.m. with an afternoon service at 4 p.m. and a Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Grandview. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, June 1, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview, with burial to follow at Grandview Cemetery.

Smith Funeral Home in Grandview is in charge of arrangements.
