Dawn Bronkhorst, 58, of Grandview passed away Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at her home.

She was born April 16, 1951 in Goldendale to Delbert L. and Dorothy (Woodard) Bronkhorst.

She received her education in Sunnyside, graduating with the Sunnyside High School class of 1969. Dawn later attended and received her licensed practical nurse diploma from the Lower Yakima Valley Practical Nurse program. In 1971 she married Steve Kinsey in Sunnyside. They together made their home in Outlook. To this union two beautiful daughters, Amy and Summer, were born.

Dawn worked for several Lower Valley hospitals and also St. Elizabeth Hospital in Yakima.

Dawn enjoyed gardening, watching movies, reading, music and dancing.

She cherished her family and especially the time she spent with her grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Amy Shrontz (David) and their children, Hannah, Abbi and Jack Shrontz, and Summer Kinsey Ortega (Xavier), all of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; her mother, Dorothy Bronkhorst of Grandview; one brother, Cecil Bronkhorst of Kennewick; and two sisters, Cindy Thompson of Sunnyside and Maria Hill of Grandview.

She was preceded in death by her father, Delbert.

Viewing and visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Sunnyside Cemetery.
