Pearl Evelyn Burch, 95, of Sunnyside went to be in the arms of her Savior on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, from her home.

Pearl was born April 2, 1914 in McCune, Kansas, the daughter of Louis Christian and Etta Charlotte (Bishell) Krauter.

Pearl moved to Sunnyside in November of 1943. She returned to McCune and married Charles Victor Burch on April 24, 1944, where they farmed until 1957. Victor and Pearl returned to Sunnyside and opened the Coast to Coast Hardware Store. They owned and operated the Coast to Coast for many years until retiring in Sunnyside.

Pearl enjoyed her family, gardening, quilting and crocheting.

She was a member of the Sunnyside Grace Brethren Church.

Pearl is survived by one brother, Louis Paul Krauter of Sunnyside; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Victor; and one sister, Esther Burkholder.

Viewing and visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor her memory may contribute to Sunnyside Grace Brethren Church or Lower Valley Hospice.

Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside is in charge of arrangements.
