The residential burn season has officially ended due to seasonal weather changes, according to the Yakima Regional Clean Air Authority.
The burn season formally ended on Oct. 15 and will not resume until mid-March.
Outdoor burning is banned in the urban growth areas of Sunnyside, Grandview, Union Gap, Yakima, Selah, Granger, Mabton, Moxee, Naches and Tieton.
Rather than burning leaves and yard waste, the clean air authority suggests mulching and chipping instead.
