KENNEWICK - Lady Greyhound swimmers Samanta Castaneda and Amanda Marquez trekked to Kennewick Tuesday night to compete in a swim meet.
Castaneda clocked in at 33.15 in the 50-yard freestyle, while Marquez clocked in at 34.78. Emily Chandia of Kennewick claimed top honors with a time of 30.48.
Marquez earned a District meet qualifying time in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:28.57. Prosser's McKenna Musselwhite placed first with a time of 1:28.40.
In the 100-yard backstroke, Castaneda posted a District meet qualifying time of 1:24.27. The event was won by Prosser's Hanna Rankin, who had a State meet qualifying time of 1:05.38.
"The 'Hounds are doing a great job, swimming hard at practice and getting faster," said Grandview Coach Rhonda Baker.
