Maria Guadalupe Cisneros, 79, of Grandview, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, at Sunnyside Community Hospital.

She was born Dec. 14, 1929 in Progreso, Texas to Jose and Antonia (Casas) Cortina.

On March 26, 1947 she married Eloy Cisneros at Monte Alto, Texas. Following their marriage, they moved to Prosser, later making their home in Grandview.

She enjoyed cooking, dancing and camping.

Maria cherished time spent with her family especially her grandchildren.

She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview.

She is survived by her children, Hector Cisneros (Lydia) and Israel Cisneros (Aricela), Sylvia Armendariz (Jesus), Irma Cisneros, Elizabeth Cisneros and Linda Saenz (Rudy), all of Grandview, Rudy Cisneros (Angelica) of Mabton and Raul Cisneros (Noemi) of Monte Alto, Texas; 30 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandson; two brothers, Abel Cortina and Jose Cortina; and three sisters, Adalia Guerra, Adelina Garcia and Amanda Garcia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eloy Cisneros; one son, Eliud "Chuco" Cisneros; one grandson, Gonzalo Cisneros; and one sister, Domitila Plata.

Viewing and visitation were held Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009, from 4 to 8 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Grandview. Mass of Christian Burial was held today, Oct. 12, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview, with burial held at Grandview Cemetery.
