Antonio Frausto, 58, of Sunnyside went to be in the arms of his Savior on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009, surrounded by his loving family.
Antonio was born May 8, 1951 in Guanajuato, Mexico, the son of Gonzalo and Cresencia (Diaz) Frausto.
He received his education in Mexico.
On Jan. 5, 1974 he married Virginia Cervantes in Guanajuato, Mexico. In 1979 the Frausto family settled in Sunnyside, where Antonio worked as a farm laborer. Antonio was a strong man, always having the will to overcome and face the many health issues he had throughout his life and he met them with great optimism.
He enjoyed scratch tickets, fishing, gardening and watching the Valley's beautiful sunsets.
Antonio attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside.
He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Frausto of Sunnyside; six children, Maria Frausto and fiancé, Saul Trujillo, Domenica Frausto and Eloy Hernandez, Juan Frausto (Angelica), Antonio Frausto Jr., Ricardo Frausto and Virginia Frausto, all of Sunnyside; eight grandchildren, Alondra Trujillo, Angeles Trujillo, Aleah Frausto, Andre' Frausto, Deangelo Hernandez, Dominique Hernandez, Diego Hernandez and Destiny Hernandez; his mother, Cresencia Frausto of Mexico; five brothers, Concepcion Frausto, Jesus Frausto, Jose Frausto, Ascension Frausto, all of Sunnyside, and Francisco Frausto of Mexico; and two sisters, Josefina Frausto of Phoenix, Ariz. and Rosario Amador of Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gonzalo Frausto; and an infant son, Antonio Frausto.
Viewing and visitation will be held today, Oct. 13, 2009, from 3 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Sunnyside Memorial Park in Sunnyside.
