I read Bob Sarmiento's recent letter to the editor focusing on Jason Raines' campaign for the Sunnyside City Council. One of two things comes to mind...either Mr. Sarmiento is not reading the Daily Sun News and using it for toilet paper instead, or else he wrote the letter for the incumbent, Theresa Hancock.
Jason Raines has been telling everyone what he has been about for months. He wants police back on the streets. He wants limits on senseless spending in city hall. He wants good leadership for the city and wants these city managers not to be fired at the whim of Mrs. Hancock, Jesse Hernandez and Carol Stone!
And he believes in private property rights, which Mrs. Hancock, Mr. Hernandez and Mrs. Stone do not. These three think property owners have no rights and they as council members can do anything they want even if not within the limits of the law.
Jason Raines has been upfront about his agenda. He does not say one thing and do the opposite as his opponent and Mrs. Stone make it a habit of doing! His main goal is honesty within this city, which we have not seen since Mrs. Hancock and Mrs. Stone were elected!
