SHS girls drop match in three straight

The 3A Sunnyside High School volleyball team hosted 4A Walla Walla last night, Tuesday, and lost 3-0 to the visiting Blue Devils.

The Lady Grizzlies didn't go down without a fight, though, as Sunnyside hung tough in a 25-16 game one loss before dropping the second game 25-10.

Sunnyside saved its best effort for last, pushing Walla Walla before losing a 26-24 heartbreaker.

Despite the 3-0 loss, the Lady Grizzlies had some bright spots last night. Savana Romero hustled for 18 digs for Sunnyside and teammate Rachel Romero dished out 17 assists.

Lani Ramos paced the Lady Grizzly attack at the net with five kills, while Sunnyside's Hannah Marro collected three blocks.

Alissa Martin sparked the Lady Grizzly attack with 22 perfect passes.

Sunnyside, 1-14 in league play, wraps up its regular season tomorrow, Thursday, at Wenatchee.
