The names of five suspects wanted in connection with the shooting death of Roman Magana Mendoza and critical injury to Maria Reyes, both of Sunnyside, have been released by the Sunnyside Police Department.
Police believe Lisandro Rangel, 21; Alfonso Rangel Jr., 27; Ramon Medina-Gutierrez, 21; Juvenal Moreno-Garcia, 25; and Tanilo Medina, also known as Guadalupe Fernandez, 26, were all involved in the shooting that took place at 809 Yakima Valley Highway last Friday.
All five suspects are residents of Sunnyside and a third victim was injured in the shooting that took place at the Sunnyside restaurant.
"Tracking down these individuals is the top priority for the Sunnyside Police Department. We want to assure the citizens of the city of Sunnyside that we are putting an extreme effort into the investigation of this murder," shared Sunnyside Police Chief Ed Radder.
The investigation is ongoing and the police department has stated it will be releasing information in a diligent manner because of the complexity of the case.
The Washington State Patrol, Drug Enforcement Administration, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the Yakima County Violent Crimes Task Force are assisting in the investigation.
