The future of Sunnyside's Community Center will be the focus of a town hall forum here next week.
Sunnyside's Promise will host the forum next Tuesday, April 6, at the Community Center.
The city recently gave Sunnyside's Promise responsibility for the community center. During spring break, Sunnyside's Promise opened the center temporarily for youth activities.
In addition, Sunnyside's Promise has been seeking grant funds to open the center during the summer.
The purpose of next Tuesday's forum is to take the city's partnership with Sunnyside's Promise to another level and invite community input.
The town hall forum is open to the public and comments, ideas and thoughts from the community will be welcome.
Specifically, Sunnyside's Promise would like to hear the public's input on what it would like to see at the Community Center when it does re-open.
In addition, the forum is a chance for residents to explore volunteer opportunities at the center.
The April 6 town hall forum will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Community Center.
Spanish language translation services will be available.
