Waneta (Neta) Earl Cleghorn Hutchinson 75, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2010.

She was born Dec. 10, 1934 in Toppenish to Earl and Ethel Cleghorn.

Neta and Roy were married on April 11, 1949 in Reno, Nev. They made their home in Sunnyside, where they raised five children, Roy Hutchinson Jr., Kathy Keel, Robert Hutchinson, Brad Hutchinson and Ann Longoria.

After Roy retired from Welch's, they made a living together creating beautiful custom-made furniture and upholstery. They also bought, sold and traded antiques.

Neta and Roy loved to travel, camp, create and sell crafts together at fairs. Her beautiful, hand-sewn and crafted rugs are coveted by all who laid eyes on them.

Neta also loved gardening, cooking and her lively pet poodles.

Above all, Neta was a kind-hearted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all she encountered. Her sweet smile and welcoming spirit invited you in.

Neta and her poodle, Sugar, moved to Byron, Ga. in late 2008 to live with her son, Brad and daughter-in-law, Margarete. While living in Georgia, she made so many wonderful friends.

In addition to their children, Neta is survived by her brother, Gary; her sister, Sandy Miller; and 13 grandchildren, David Hutchinson, Kristy Keel, Len Keel, James Keel, Heather Kline, Jessicarae Nuñez, Matthew Hutchinson, Jarred and Frankie Longoria, Paul Heartmann, Mike Stephens, Tina Ortiz and Nici Opiela; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Roy E. Hutchinson.

Neta's children and grandchildren will honor her life by placing her in the ground on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at 2 p.m. next to her husband, Roy, at Lower Valley Memorial Garden Cemetery in Sunnyside.

To celebrate what would have been their 61st wedding anniversary weekend, family and friends of the couple are invited to join in the service.
