Ernest L. Ralph, 89, of Auburn passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 14, 2010, with his family by his side.

Mr. Ralph was born Sept. 14, 1920, in Wapato to Leonard M. and Laura I. Ralph.

He graduated from high school in Sunnyside.

Ernie joined the U.S. Army and served during WWII in the European Theater. He was active in seven major invasions.

After serving his country, Ernie returned home and married his high school sweetheart, Maxine I Newman. They enjoyed 65 years of marriage together.

Ernie was a sales representative and branch manager for Carnation Company in Sunnyside for 35 years.

After retirement, he relocated to Auburn to be near his family.

He enjoyed sitting in his favorite chair beside Maxine reading a good book. He also enjoyed driving his Cadillac.

Mr. Ralph is survived by his wife, Maxine; his son, David (Rhonda) Ralph; his grandchildren, Shawn (Dana) Ralph, Christopher Ralph, Travis Ralph and Debbie Ralph; great- grandchildren, Kyle, Derek, Cole, Kalah and Dylan. He was preceded in death by his son, Stan Ralph; a grandson, Ryan Ralph; and a great-granddaughter, Hayley.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at 11 a.m., at Yahn and Son Funeral Home in Auburn, with inurnment to follow at 12:30 p.m., at Tahoma National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests remembrances be sent to the MS Society and AT Children's Project (ATCP).

Yahn and Son Funeral Home in Auburn is in charge of arrangements.
