35-year veteran officially retired

GRANDVIEW - At Monday night's Grandview School Board meeting, the board of directors acknowledged the service of retiring high school teacher Perry Hackett. Hackett taught automotive technology and applied mathematics with the Grandview School District for 35 years.

In addition to his retirement, the school board also approved the hiring of two new teachers. Michaela Leyendekker was accepted as a temporary third grade teacher for Harriet Thompson Elementary and Rebecca Kinney was approved to be a signing paraprofessional for the middle school.

With these two final additions, Superintendant Kevin Chase announced that they were fully staffed for the coming school year.
