Dorlé M. Stencil, 84, of Sunnyside passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, in Sunnyside.

Dorlé was born April 8, 1926 in Portland, Ore., the daughter of Weir E. and Merle (Hughey) Baldwin.

At the age of 51, Dorlé earned her GED, so she could sell real estate, but she didn't enjoy the life of a sales person. Dorlé loved to draw, paint and had a wit about her.

She is survived by a sister, Bertina Baker of Salem, Ore.; a step-son, Don (LaDonna) Schilperoort of Sunnyside; six grandchildren, Landon, Leland and Lacie, all of Sunnyside and Ty, Travis and Trevor Stencil of Oregon; 12 great- grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Maybelle Baird of Tigard, Ore.; and special friends, Mike Sterbenz, the girls at Sunnyside City Hall, Cactus Juice Café, the staff at Hillcrest Manor and her church family at United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene, in 2004; a son, Dennis, in 2005; one brother; and an infant sister.

At Dorlé's request there will be no formal service.

If you would like to honor her memory you may contribute to Lower Valley Hospice.

Smith Funeral Home LTD and Crematory in Sunnyside is charge of arrangements.
