Grandview posts 2-2 record at Pasco tournament

PASCO - The Greyhounds lost 48-24 against Mountain View in the first round of the Best in the West tournament held yesterday (Tuesday) in Pasco.

Grandview's Fidel Medina (103 lbs.) and Marco Gonzalez (130 lbs.) recovered from their defeat last weekend by pinning both their Mountain View opponents in Pasco.

Medina pinned Benny Dixon in 1:42, while Gonzalez pinned his opponent in 32 seconds.

Their teammates Alex Soberanes and Mario Prieto defeated their opponents, as well.

Soberanes won in a decision over Mountain View's Brian Robles 20-14 while Prieto defeated Terrence Hapton 9-7.

Grandview's Adam Morales (215 lbs.) won by forfeit.

Grandview moved on to the consolation round where they defeated Columbia-Burbank 60-5. Grandview won all but two matches in this round and seven of their wrestlers pinned their opponents.

Grandview went on to defeat Washougal 41-21 but lost to Pasco 47-24.

The Best of the West tournament continues today in Pasco.
