YAKIMA - The Board of Yakima County Commissioners agreed this past Tuesday to extend a moratorium on the licensing of adult businesses in Yakima County for another six months, commencing on Dec. 21.
The commissioners have held two public meetings on the issue, one on July 13 and the other one yesterday. The board found that protection of the public health, safety and welfare supported the moratorium on establishment and operation of adult businesses in order to allow time for the development and review of the zoning ordinance regulating the establishment and operation of adult business.
Currently there are no ordinances in Yakima County regulating adult businesses.
