Jennie Klarenbeek, 88, of Prosser passed away on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, with her daughter by her side.

Jennie was born Feb. 17, 1921 in Sioux County, Iowa.

On June 25, 1941 she married Cornelius Klarenbeek. Jennie and Cornelius lived in Iowa until 1955, when they moved to Washington state. They lived in Sunnyside, Mabton and Grandview. They had six children.

After Cornelius passed away in 1998, Jennie moved to Prosser.

As a wife and mother of six children, Jennie spent many years taking care of her family and working along side her husband on the family farm. Once the children got older she spent several years working at Prosser Pack.

After Jennie and Cornelius retired, they continued to work together mowing lawns in Sunnyside, Grandview and Prosser for another few years.

Jennie was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Prosser.

Jennie is survived by her five children, Cora Goodno (Ken) of Anchor Point, Alaska, Jolene Holmes of Roy, Hester Harding (Norm) of Port Ludlow, June McNair (Michael) of Prosser and Pamela Birchard (Ray) of Great Falls, Mont.; a daughter-in-law, Marie Klarenbeek of Grandview; 19 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.

Our great-grandma K. will be missed by all of us.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius in 1998; a son, Clarence Klarenbeek; and a son-in-law, Roy Holmes.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.
