Woman discovers bullet holes in her home

Just after 3 p.m. yesterday (Monday) a woman living in the 1600 block of Apricot Road near Grandview called the Yakima County Sheriff's Office stating she found a bullet hole in her bedroom. The hole led her to discover the bullet had traversed through the room. Further inspection led to the discovery of another bullet hole outside her home.

The woman told deputies she did not know when the bullets had been fired at her home.

Six suspicious situations have since last Thursday been reported to deputies.

Ten to 12 individuals were seen in an orchard in the 1600 block of Appleway Road near Grandview, running around, just after 10:30 p.m. last Friday.

A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 300 block of Woodworth Road near Grandview at approximately 5:45 a.m. Saturday, a suspicious vehicle was spotted in the 500 block of Hickory Road near Grandview Saturday just after 5:30 p.m., and another suspicious vehicle was reported in the area of County Line and Factory roads near Grandview just after 10 p.m. Saturday.

Sunday just after 8 p.m. a resident in the 800 block of Chase Road near Grandview reported suspicious activity at a nearby property. Individuals on the property were reportedly walking around with flashlights. The property was occupied by a vacant trailer and the concerned neighbor wanted an area check.

Yesterday an individual in the 2200 block of Cemetery Road near Sunnyside just after 10 p.m. reported a suspicious vehicle in the area. Deputies investigating the call checked and cleared the area.

Deputies since last Friday have also received two missing persons reports, a burglary report, three domestic violence calls, two malicious mischief calls, an illegal street racing call, a report of a fight, three assault reports, an accident call and a runaway report. They responded to one other weapon offense and were unable to locate anything. Deputies recovered a stolen vehicle, as well.
