Patricia A. "Patty" Hecker, 72, of Grandview went to be with her sweetheart on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010.

She was born March 28, 1936 in Reamsville, Kansas.

She moved to Grandview in 1937 with her family. She attended school in Grandview and graduated in 1954.

She married George Hecker on Sept. 25, 1954. They had five children.

She was a devoted farmer's wife and a loving mother. She worked at Haskin's Variety Store in Grandview

part-time while raising her children and helping on the farm.

She loved to sew, quilt and shop at the thrift stores for that special find. She said the best thing about her life was being a housewife and a mother.

She is survived by her two sons, Randy (Connie) Hecker of Mabton and Rick (Debi) Hecker of Prosser; two daughters, Holly Hecker-Pupo of Yuba City, Calif. and Tricia Hecker of Grandview; eight grandchildren, Kyle (Jenny) Hecker of Zillah, Cole (Sarah) Hecker of Grandview, Alex (Joseph) Steinbock of Prosser, Tyler Hecker and Ben Hecker, both of Prosser, Sean (Rebecca) Hilton of San Diego, Calif. and Jacob Pupo and Stefanie Pupo, both of Yuba City, Calif.; and two great-grandchildren, Riley Hecker of Zillah and Amelia Hecker of Grandview.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael in 1955; her parents, Charles Schwabauer in 1991 and Fern Schwabauer in 1992; and her husband of 50 years, George Hecker in 2005.

Memorials can be made in Patricia's name to Lower Valley Hospice, 3920 Outlook Road, Sunnyside, WA 98944.
