Patrick D. Hutchinson, 64, died Friday, May 28, 2010 in his sleep at home in Mattawa due to his battle with lung cancer.

Patrick was born in Portland, Ore., to Elmer Leroy and Minnie Hutchinson and raised in Sunnyside

In his early years he worked as an auto mechanic in his own shop in Outlook. He then worked in various industries as a mechanic. In 1978 he met his wife, Bobbie Hutchinson and they were married in 1979 at the Sunnyside United Methodist Church.

Patrick and his wife moved to Othello in 1980 and then to Mattawa in 1988. He lived out the rest of his life there working as a plant foreman at Wahluke Produce. He made many good friends over the years in Mattawa.

Patrick had a passion for the outdoors. He loved hunting, camping and jeeping.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Bobbie Hutchinson; his sons and daughters-in-law, Jessie, Del and Shelly Hutchinson, Jim and Renee Hutchinson, and Mark and Nikki Hutchinson; five grandchildren, Samantha, Michael, Patrick, Isaac and Gabriel; one soon-to-be grandchild, Ethan; and one great-grandchild, Gemma; siblings, Jerry, Richard, Minnibelle and Mike.

He is preceded in death by siblings, Roy, Jack and Dorris.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mattawa.
