More rainfall forecast for June

Preliminary data released from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Weather Service in Pendleton, Ore. reveals Sunnyside residents can expect normal temperatures and above average precipitation for the month of June.

June high temperatures in Sunnyside should average out at 82.1 degrees, with normal lows at 52.4 degrees.

Normal precipitation in June is 0.42 inches.

The month of May was the coldest on record according to the information released by the NOAA. The average temperature in May in the Sunnyside area was 53.4 degrees, which was 7.2 degrees below normal.

Average high temperatures in May were 66.5 degrees, 8.6 degrees below normal. Meanwhile, average lows were 40.3 degrees, 5.9 degrees below normal.

The lowest temperature was recorded on May 6 when temperatures dropped to 28 degrees.

Precipitation totaled 1.72 inches during May, which was 1.16 inches above normal. Precipitation was recorded on 11 days last month with the heaviest, 0.41 inches, on May 18.
