GRANDVIEW - The Grandview Fire Department this past Sunday just after 5:30 p.m. rushed to a home in the 500 block of West Fourth Street for a report of a fire.
Upon arrival firefighters found a single-family home full of smoke.
A quick assessment of the home determined the homeowners were not home at the time of the fire and a quick interior attack of the blaze was initiated.
Firefighters were able to knock down the fire and extinguished the blaze, preventing further damage to the home.
The contents of the home, however, were lost at an estimate of $80,000 damage.
The homeowner, according to officials, is Yolanda Garcia, who also resided there.
The fire was under control at about 6:15 p.m. and 11 firefighters battled the blaze.
