The building located at 1600 Yakima Valley Highway in Sunnyside has been a pizza joint and a steakhouse. It is now poised to become a sports bar.
Tony Garibay, Manny Gutierrez and Gabe Gutierrez are partnering together to open Fuego Lounge, LLC.
"It's time to bring the fire back to Sunnyside," Manny Gutierrez said.
Building and property owner Roger Schwab said what the three men have planned will be quite exciting.
Currently the former Double D Steakhouse is still in transition. The Gutierrez's and Garibay are undergoing some extensive remodeling.
The city is ready to inspect on June 23 and the owners of Fuego Lounge, LLC are shooting for an opening sometime in July.
"We're trying to make sure all the structures and logistics are in place," Gutierrez said.
Fuego Lounge, LLC will be a full-service bar that will serve appetizers and other bar food, such as burgers and pizza.
The inside will have a sports bar feel, but with a relaxed touch to it.
"We want people to come in and relax, have a drink and watch the game," Gutierrez added.
He said the bar will have lounge seating with plasma televisions for the customers to get the best view of the action. Music will also be a staple to Fuego Lounge, LLC. Gutierrez said the sports bar will fuse a wide variety of music, from modern jazz, rock, European sounds and others.
Fuego Lounge, LLC will also offer Wi-Fi to its customers.
The whole inside will take on an urban city look, Gutierrez said.
"There will be bold colors and modern modular furniture," he said.
He said he expects Fuego Lounge, LLC to employ between five and six employees and the Gutierrez's and Garibay are currently holding interviews. Gutierrez said if anyone is interested in coming to work at Fuego Lounge, LLC they must submit their resume along with a cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The partners are starting out small but have a vision of something bigger. If things go right with Fuego Lounge, LLC in Sunnyside expect to see a lot more of the sports friendly bars in Washington.
