Taking author to task again not good journalism

A recent harsh book review by Corey Russell drew a letter from the author requesting an apology (published in Wednesday's edition). Mr. Russell's personal column on Wednesday took the author to task again, which I felt was unfair.

A reporter who has access to ink (bought by the barrel) and paper (purchased by the ton) has a responsibility to use both with discrimination. In this case, it would have been good journalism and perhaps true charity to let author Al Allaway have the last word.

However, on an up note, the controversy may spur sales of Sevens, Allaway's book!
