The trio of Justin Bos, Alex Quiroz and Ron Van Gundy, to put it quite simply, were never challenged in last Sunday's men's club kick-off event for 2010 at Sunnyside's Black Rock Creek Golf Course.
Playing a three-man Vegas scramble, where each team member tees off and then must choose which drive to use from where the team members each get to take a shot until the ball is dropped in the cup, the winning trio of Bos, Quiroz and Van Gundy carded an 8-under-par 64.
The next closest finishers from the 17-team field was the threesome of Larry Kleingartner, Don Cardenas and Ken Goin. The three golfers posted a 2-under-par 70, six shots back of the winners.
Tying for third place honors, with identical 1-under-par 71's, were the three-man teams of Trini Madrigal, Ken Herber and Dan Clark; and Perry Barnhill, Dennis Petrea and Bob Jones.
