Mary Bernadine Rollinger, 88, of Sunnyside passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Hillcrest Manor in Sunnyside.

She was born May 2, 1921 in Sunnyside to Jacob J. and Alice F. (Leonard) Rollinger.

She lived her entire life in Sunnyside, graduating with the Sunnyside High School class of 1939.

Mary worked as a secretary for various businesses in Sunnyside, primarily for Pacific Power and Light.

She was a pioneer championship bowler for more than 50 years and started her career playing with the duckpins in a small bowling alley on Sixth Street near the railroad tracks in 1938.

She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was the organist for many years.

She is survived by her brother, Bernard J. (Judy) Rollinger and her nephew, John J. (Debbie) Rollinger, all of Long Beach, Calif.; a niece, Patresa (Matthew Zwerling) Rollinger and a great-niece, Kristan Zwerling, all of Santa Rosa, Calif.; a great-nephew, Benjamin Zwerling; a great- grandniece, Julia Zwerling and great- grandnephew, Ian Zwerling, all of Denver, Colo.; cousins, Fred (Dorothy) Rollinger of Yakima and Clarence (Jan) Rollinger of Sunnyside who were fruitful and multiplied gifting her with dozens of cousins too numerous to mention, but who were much loved and appreciated.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and beloved feline companion, Kit Kat.

Rosary services will be held Friday, March 26, 2010, at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
