Grandview man arrested after celebrating job acquisition

GRANDVIEW - At approximately 9:30 p.m. yesterday (Tuesday) the Grandview Police Department received a report of a loud boom in the 700 block of Stassen Way.

The caller, and several callers after that, believed the sound was gunfire.

Officers located the suspected residence and contacted a 22-year-old male. The man gave them permission to search his property and his home.

Police located shotgun shells, a container that appeared to have been shot with a shotgun and a shotgun. Pellets were also found on the property and police took the evidence into custody.

The suspect, after questioning, admitted to having fired the weapon. According to Grandview police, the suspect said he was celebrating having gotten a job, admitting he had fired the shotgun.

The man was taken into custody and the Grandview Police Department has requested charges of an alien in possession of a firearm, as well as unlawful firearm possession.
