Grandview teen in custody after report of knife incident at high school

GRANDVIEW - Yesterday (Thursday) a Grandview High School student was taken into custody by Grandview police after having reportedly displayed a pocketknife during a fight at school.

At about 11:40 a.m. the 16-year-old male suspect and another student were fighting. Another student tried to intervene and the suspect allegedly pulled a knife from his pocket. He, according to the victims, began swinging the knife in the direction of the student trying to intervene in the fight.

The suspect was located by authorities and taken into custody. He was transported to the Yakima County juvenile detention center and Assistant Grandview Police Chief Mark Ware said this morning, the prosecuting attorney will determine charges to be filed.
