Commencement exercises for all Lower Valley seniors set for June 4-5

High school seniors across the Lower Yakima Valley are eagerly awaiting their graduation ceremony and their schools are finalizing plans. But with several schools in the mix, those wishing to attend the numerous ceremonies need to finalize their own plans.

Sunnyside High School's commencement ceremony will be held at Clem Senn Field at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 4.

The SHS valedictorian for the class of 2010 is Eric Desmarais and the co-salutatorians are Jennifer Crane and Katie Herndon.

The baccalaureate ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, in the Sunnyside High School auditorium and will be officiated by the Sunnyside Ministerial Association.

The number of students graduating has not yet been determined.

Twenty seniors at Sunnyside Christian High School will also be graduating on Friday, June 4. The ceremony will be held at the Grandview Church of the Nazarene at 7 p.m.

Tim De Vries is the SCHS 2010 valedictorian and Devon Swofford is their salutatorian.

Mabton High School will see 67 graduates receive diplomas at their graduation ceremony on Friday, June 4. The ceremony will being at 7 p.m. in the high school gym.

Valedictorian Myra Reyna will give her graduation speech, but the salutatorian has yet to be announced.

Mabton's baccalaureate will be held at 9 a.m. this coming Sunday, May 23, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mabton.

On Saturday, June 5, approximately 120 students from Grandview High School will graduate in an 11 a.m. ceremony held at Rich Leenhousts Stadium.

This year's valedictorian is Komal Naren and the salutatorian is Marisol Lara.

Grandview's baccalaureate ceremony will be held at the Bethany Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, June 2, at 7 p.m.

Bickleton High School will hold its commencement Saturday, June 5, at 5 p.m. in the high school gym.

Jessica Cummings is the Bickleton High School valedictorian and Holly Goodnight is their salutatorian.

The Bickleton High School baccalaureate will be held at the Bickleton Presbyterian Church, Wednesday, June 2, at 7 p.m.
