Guatemala native sets up tax office in Sunnyside

Opened about two weeks ago, Jenny's Tax Services in Sunnyside offers income tax, notary public, passport photos and bilingual services.

The owner is Jenny Montenegro, who moved with her family to the Lower Valley from Guatemala when she was just two years old.

The tax business is located at 524 S. Seventh St., across from U.S. Bank. It can be reached at 836-2500.

"I've always worked in offices and I really love it," Montenegro said. "I love working with the public."

Jenny's Tax Services also features fax and copy services, as well as offering work permits and green card renewals.

The prime business Montenegro offers is helping individuals and small businesses with income tax forms. She says her business is open now as a way to gear up for the busy tax months of January through April.

Montenegro is keeping a busy schedule, operating her business five days a week in Sunnyside, and taking business classes at YVCC Grandview.

Eventually the Grandview resident hopes to keep building her business in Sunnyside, while earning a business degree through WSU Tri Cities.

Montenegro says she enjoys having her business in Sunnyside.

"I like the location, I love the city," she said. "This is a perfect location, I fell in love with it," she says of her office.

To celebrate the opening of her new office, Montenegro is offering free popcorn and coffee.

She also has a refer-a-friend program in place, where customers get $5 off their income tax fee for every person they refer to her.
