GRANDVIEW - A total of five Grandview High School athletes have drawn the admiration of the CWAC coaches for their play this past fall season.
In football, GHS sophomore Herman Herrera was the lone Grandview player earning CWAC all-league honors. Herrera, as voted on by the CWAC coaches, was afforded second-team honors as a wide receiver.
The three other wideouts earning second-team honors were Prosser's Jordin Silva, Othello's Sam Para and Ellensburg's Sungyoung Lee. Wide receivers named to the CWAC first-team all-star squad included Kramer Ferrell of Ellensburg, Dominic Garza of Prosser and Kody Berens of Quincy.
Herrera also was named an honorable mention selection as a defensive back.
In volleyball, two Grandview High School athletes have ended up on the CWAC all-league first team. The all-stars include sophomore Payton Parrish (setter) and senior Haley Smasne (outside hitter).
Joining Parrish and Smasne as first-team all-star selections are Selah's Natalie Fickes, Kayla Dexter and Tori Dexter, Ephrata's Kendra DeHoog, Ellensburg's Shannon Bland and Prosser's Taylor Flores.
Grandview senior Gabby Sauve is one of eight girls named to the CWAC all-league volleyball second squad. Sauve played the libero position for the Lady Greyhounds this past fall.
Also earning accolades from Grandview is Mikaela Espinoza. An outside hitter on the volleyball court, Espinoza has been tabbed for honorable mention all-star honors.
