The annual Sunnyside Community Hospital Foundation Festival of Trees returns to the Sunnyside Mini-Mall on Friday, Nov. 19.
The Festival of Trees is the kickoff to the holiday season in the Lower Valley. More than 30 Christmas trees will be on display. Volunteer decorators prepare each tree with a special Christmas theme. The trees have been purchased by area businesses that will display them throughout the holiday season.
"Festival of Trees has been a tradition in Sunnyside for more than two decades," said foundation development director Jonica Bridges. "This year we are excited to be back in the Mini-Mall where there is more room to enjoy the Christmas trees, mingle with your family and friends, and enjoy music and delicious appetizers:.
Miller and Mark, a local musical duo, will be back again to provide entertainment throughout the evening.
The foundation will auction off one specially decorated tree to the highest bidder. There will be other gift baskets auctioned to raise additional money to assist the foundation in the purchase of eight new Oximetry monitors and two end-tidal CO2/Oximetry monitors for the cardiopulmonary department at the hospital.
"We think it is important that people know where their money is going," Bridges explained. "These monitors are needed to help care for so many different patients that come into the hospital. We hope people will bid generously."
Ticket prices for this year's event are $35 in advance or $40 at the door. Tickets may be purchased by calling 837-1649 or 837-1337. Children under 5 will be admitted free of charge. Tickets for children 6-12 are $10.
