Indall powers BRC seniors to top finish

MOSES LAKE - Chris Indall fired a 1-over-par 72 in leading Sunnyside's Black Rock Creek team to a first-place finish at last week's Mid-Columbia Senior Golf Tour competition, staged at the Moses Lake Golf & Country Club.

Indall's round was the low score from among all of the 85 golfers who competed.

The Lower Yakima Valley squad is seeking a fourth consecutive senior tour championship.

In finishing first at last week's senior tour stop, Black Rock Creek tallied an aggregate team score of 758. That was 46 strokes better than the next closest team from Columbia Point Golf Course.

Black Rock Creek is currently in first place in the senior tour standings with 159 points. The Columbia Point team sits in second place with 143.5 points.

Besides the round of 72 turned in by Indall last week, Black Rock Creek got an 8-over-par 79 from Miles Plata, as well as an 87 from teammate Akira Nozaka.

In the net scoring column (actual score minus handicap), Tom Diener carded the low round for Black Rock Creek. He shot a handicap-aided, 1-over-par 72. Turning in handicap-aided rounds of 73 were Black Rock Creek's Wally Flores and Jim Angel.

The next senior golf tour stop is at Wildhorse Golf Resort near Pendleton, Ore. That competition is slated for Wednesday, Sept. 22. Local golfers who plan to compete that day are asked to sign up in the local pro shop no later than Monday, Sept. 20.
