Mabton police seek info on Monday night shooting

MABTON - Last Monday night, at approximately 10:55 p.m., Mabton police responded to a shots fired call in the alley of the 200 block of North Second Avenue.

Witnesses reported a white vehicle leaving the scene on Euclid Road towards Grandview. Grandview police were advised and stopped the vehicle in their city limits.

A 27-year-old female and a 34-year-old male were detained for questioning.

While officers were at the stop location, a 43-year-old male from Mabton arrived at Sunnyside Community Hospital with a gunshot wound to the hand. When questioned by Mabton police, the victim and the two detained occupants of the vehicle were uncooperative.

Mabton and Grandview officers recovered 9mm spent shell casings at the scene of the shooting.

The shooting is believed to be gang related.
