Margaret Elenbaas, 93, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 31, 2011.

Margaret the youngest child of Gerrit and Neltie Kobes, was born in Granger on Jan. 18, 1918.

She married Albert Elenbaas on March 22, 1938. They were blessed with four children and made their home in the Granger area for the next 58 years until Albert's passing in 1996.

She continued to live on the family farm, taking great delight in her yard especially her rose garden. Margaret's hard work ethic ensured there would be no safe haven for weeds on her property.

In 2006 she moved to Sunnyside, where she first lived at Sun Terrace Assisted Living and during the last nine months of her life was lovingly cared for at Hillcrest Manor.

Margaret worked at Yakima Bait Company and upon retirement enjoyed traveling and salmon fishing with Albert.

It was very evident Margaret belonged to her faithful Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She had a tender spirit and was loved by all who knew her. She was a lifetime member of Faith Community Christian Reformed Church in Zillah.

She is survived by children Marilyn (Fred) Stamey of Franklin, N.C., Elaine (Jim) Sawyer of New Gloucester, Maine, Judy Trull of Sunnyside and Jim (Sandra) Elenbaas of Granger; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and siblings.
