CRYSTAL MOUNTAIN - Crystal Mountain Resort no longer has an off-season with the addition of the Mt. Rainier Gondola. Crystal Mountain Resort's winter season will end on April 17 and the extended spring skiing season will begin on April 21.
Visitors can ski and board well into June, and possibly into July (as conditions permit), making it the longest ski season in the state.
No longer just a winter playground, Crystal Mountain Resort provides activities throughout the spring and summer months, becoming a year-round hub for outdoor recreation.
At Crystal Mountain, the sparkle doesn't end when the snow melts. Nestled next to Mount Rainier National Park, the mountain provides one of the most beautiful backdrops for group events, weddings and a variety of activities.
Visitors can come up for the day or stay for the night with lodging, camping and RV hook-ups right at the mountain.
Crystal Mountain Resort will be open this summer with scenic gondola rides, dining at the Summit House restaurant, hiking, biking, disc golf, horseback rides, live music, festivals and much more.
Crystal Mountain has meadows of green grass and wildflowers, lakes dotting several basins, elk bugling at night and, on a clear day, amazing views of not only Mt. Rainier, but also the Cascade Range south to Mt. Hood, Mt. Jefferson and north to Mt. Baker, as well as the Olympics to the west.
Crystal Mountain Resort Marketing Director Tiana Enger says, "Crystal (Mountain Resort) is the only place where you can ride a gondola and eat at Washington's highest restaurant with the best view of Mt. Rainier.
"With the addition of the Mt. Rainier gondola, people of any age, who may have never been to a mountain before, can experience one of Washington state's best views."
Crystal Mountain Resort is situated on the Northeast corner of Mount Rainier National Park.
Located just 76 miles from Seattle, 64 miles from Tacoma and 85 miles from Yakima, Crystal Mountain Resort offers the most diverse and unique set of experiences delivered in a setting of unrivaled natural beauty.
