Our dearly beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Phyllis Jane Long, 67, of Sunnyside completed her journey on earth on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, with her loving family by her side.
Phyllis was born Nov. 14, 1943 in Fairview, Mont., the daughter of Edwin Herbert and Gladys Augustine (Breitling) Frasch.
She received her education in Grandview, graduating with the class of 1962.
On Dec. 29, 1961 she married the love of her life, Steven Long in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
Steve and Phyllis owned and operated the Sports Center and M&J Tavern in Grandview for more than 40 years.
She enjoyed traveling, antiquing, gardening and hunting with her loving husband. Most of all she cherished and adored her grandchildren, especially following their sporting events.
Phyllis was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Sunnyside.
She is survived by her loving sidekick, Steve Long of Sunnyside; two daughters, Gaylene (John) Tucker and Paula (Shawn) VanBelle, all of Sunnyside; four grandchildren, Rylee VanBelle, Ryker VanBelle and Stormee VanBelle, all of Sunnyside, Stephanie Tucker (Mike) Houser of Prosser, Ryan (Lindsay) Tucker of Spokane and Rick Tucker of California; two great- grandchildren, Jaidyn Houser and Coen Tucker; three sisters, Donna (Theron) Hancock, Carol (Chuck) Dompier and Beverly Frasch; brother and sister-in-law, John (Opal) Long; and uncle Ruben Breitling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Dean Frasch.
Graveside services will be held Monday, April 11, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
