Gang fight in Mabton handled by deputies

In Lower Valley activity since yesterday, Wednesday, the Yakima County Sheriff's office was alerted to a fight in Mabton that involved two groups of gang members.

A witness at the scene told deputies two groups of four or five gang members were calling each other out. A short while later, the witness said a convertible carrying gang members was also in the area of the fight.

Early this morning, deputies fielded a call from a worker in the 600 block of SLI Road, who said their supervisor was harassing workers and shooting a gun in the air. The caller wanted a deputy to come out and speak to the supervisor.

In other Lower Valley activity, deputies were alerted to situation near Grandview in the Grandview Pavement Road area, where drivers of three Honda Civics and an Acura Integra were racing.
