Anniversary coins will help pay for Granger memorial marking 9/11 U.S. tragedy

GRANGER - The City of Granger will be hosting a 9/11 Memorial Dedication Ceremony at 9 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 11, across from the Granger Travel Plaza.

The dedication is open to the public. Local fire departments, law enforcement and military personnel have been invited to participate.

The city is raising money to help with the construction phase of the memorial by selling 9/11 tenth anniversary coins at $10 each.

The coins have the American flag in the background with the Twin Towers, eagle and Statue of Liberty with the words "Never Forget" inscribed. They are 2" diameter, 1/8" thick, antique brass plating, diamond-cut swirl edge and come with a black velvet pouch. Coins may be purchased from Granger city staff members or at City Hall at 102 Main Street.
