Personnel moves OK'd

MABTON - The school board earlier this week approved recommendations to hire Ann Allen as the Elementary Interim Principal, Susan Sartain as the Jr./Sr. High School Vice Principal, Ashley Collins as a para-professional with ASL skills, Amanda Marrs as a para-professional, Liliana Trujillo as a para-professional, Elizabeth Garcia as the girls soccer head coach, Ceveriano Garcia as the girls soccer assistant coach and Chris Cardenas as the assistant JV volleyball coach.

Board member Jeanette Williams suggested to table item no. 9, to hire Janelle Mendoza as the C-Squad volleyball coach. The board approved, asking Superintendent Minerva Morales to ensure the need for the position before the board decides whether to hire Mendoza.

The board approved letters of resignation from Dennis Brown, Middle School Principal, Elizabeth Almeida, Jr./Sr. special ed para-professional, and Elaine Hall, food service cook.

In addition, leaves of absence from Susan Sartain, teacher and ASB advisor, and Angie Ozuna, Elementary Principal, were approved.

Finally the consent agenda's final item was approved for the 2011-2012 extracurricular contracts. The contracts include Jesus Sustaita, middle school head football coach with a salary of $3,006, Ricardo Maldonado, middle school assistant football coach with a salary of $2,627, Scott Sexton, middle school head volleyball coach with a salary of $3,340, Christina Hernandez, middle school assistant volleyball coach with a salary of $2,627, Chris Cardenas, assistant JV volleyball coach with a salary of $3,006, Elizabeth Garcia, head girls soccer coach and Ceveriano Garcia, assistant girls soccer coach both with undetermined salaries. The position of cheerleading coach and the salary is still undetermined.
