Jesus Ramirez Hernandez, 79, of Granger passed away on Monday, Dec, 12, 2011, at Yakima Regional Hospital.

He was born Dec. 22, 1931 in Mexico.

Jesus had made his home in the Yakima Valley since 1976, where he worked for various farmers.

He enjoyed spending time on his farm and looking after his animals.

He attended the Catholic Church.

Jesus is survived by his son, Lupe Perez of Harlingen, Texas; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Rosemary Perez of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Celia Hernandez; one son, Daniel Perez; one daughter, Angie Peña; and one grandson, Gilbert Perez.

Viewing and visitation will be held today, Dec. 15, 2011, from 4 to 8 p.m., with recitation of the Holy Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens.

Smith Funeral Home LTD and Crematory in Sunnyside is in charge of arrangements.
