The Lady Vikings played their first two league games this past weekend and came away with mixed results.
Friday's game against Riverview didn't go well for Mabton. The team lost 41-36 in the game played at Finley.
"We had no energy," said Coach Chris McCallum. "We just showed up and went through the motions and when you do that you're not going to win any games."
The standout for Mabton was NeNe Barajas with 18 points.
On Saturday the Lady Vikes bounced back and tackled Columbia-Burbank at home, winning 67-34.
"We started out with no energy, getting down 9-1," said McCallum, "But found it halfway through the first quarter and never looked back."
Freshman Alyssa Nash had her best game as a Viking so far, finishing with 21 points and six rebounds. Veronica Vasquez had her best game of the year, too, with 11 points.
Mabton (1-1, 2-6) next plays at Naches Valley on Wednesday, Dec. 28.
